At the O'Donnell Middle School, Mrs. Valair's Social Studies class recently collected donations for their annual  community service project-Care Packages for Troops. Discussing the enormous sacrifices American soldiers make to protect our rights and freedoms, 8B students learned about the importance of gratitude and need to show thanks to our veterans. Demonstrating true appreciation for our active duty soldiers, students created hand-made thank you cards and collected an abundance of toiletries, snacks, games, and other items to ship to soldiers on active duty. Twelve 8B students volunteered to package the boxes after school, filling an unprecedented FOURTEEN care packages! The boxes are being shipped to soldiers currently serving around the world, including Kuwait, Jordan, and Cuba.

A very special thanks to John P. Russell Insurance Agency in Stoughton for their generous financial contributions to the project, which covered the cost of all fourteen care packages that Team 8B shipped out!
