Opioid Misuse Prevention for Athletes and Families

Dear Families of Stoughton High Athletes,

Attached is information on opioid misuse prevention from the Department of Public Health (DPH).  It is important that you and your student-athlete(s) take the time to read over the attached materials to help prevent potential misuse of opioids.  Many families have experienced the ramifications related to opioid misuse as a result of pain relief from athletic injuries. Recent legislation in Massachusetts requires that parents/guardians along with related staff receive this information prior to the start of an athletic season. Please do not hesitate to contact the athletics office if you have any questions or concerns related to this topic.
