The Select Board met on December 3, 2024 and unanimously voted to move forward with scheduling a special Town Meeting about funding the new elementary school building project. This is another positive development in eventually being able to hold a town-wide vote for approving the project.
At the special Town Meeting on November 20, 2024, Town Meeting members approved, by a vote of 111-34, a non-binding article that requested that the Select Board schedule a vote for funding the new consolidated elementary school building project.
The Select Board held a public hearing on the topic on December 3. Following their vote on December 3, the next step is that the Select Board will meet the week of December 9 and open a warrant for a special Town Meeting. This special Town Meeting would be held in February. If Town Meeting members show support for the project at the special Town Meeting, the Select Board would then schedule an election, which would coincide with the Annual Town Election in April.
