"The SPS Week Ahead" compiles a list of some of the events taking place throughout the district as well as some important reminders.



Early Release Day on Thursday

This Thursday, March 20, 2025 is an early release day for the Stoughton Public Schools.

Here are the school hours for early release days:

  • SHS & OMS - 7:35am - 11:32am

  • Elementary Schools - 8:30am - 12:20pm

  • Preschool - 8:30am - 11:00am (No afternoon preschool session)

Lunch will still be served.

Thursday is also parent/guardian-teacher conferences for elementary school.



Evening of Jazz on Wednesday Will Feature Grammy Award Winner Performing with SHS Students!

The annual Evening of Jazz takes place this Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 5:30pm at Stoughton High. The event will feature performances by the SHS Jazz Bands, SHS Jazz Voices, O'Donnell Middle School Jazz Band, and Oliver Ames Jazz Band. Special guest Bijon Watson, a Grammy Award-winning trumpet player, will also perform with SHS students!

Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door and can be purchased by clicking here.



OMS Drama Club to Present Alice in Wonderland This Week

This week, the O'Donnell Middle School Drama Club presents Alice in Wonderland Jr. at the Stoughton High Auditorium! Performances take place:

  • Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 7pm

  • Friday, March 21, 2025 at 7pm

  • Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2pm

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets will be sold at the door and can also be purchased in advance by clicking here.

Budget Office Hours

We will be holding office hours to discuss the proposed FY26 budget for the Stoughton Public Schools. Families, staff, Town Meeting representatives, Finance Committee members, and community members are invited. The next session is scheduled for this Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 5-6pm at the District Office, 31 Pierce St. There is also a virtual session this Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 9-10am. Virtual Parent/Guardian Meeting with Dr. Baeta

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph Baeta is also holding virtual office hours for SPS families (grades PK-12) this Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 6-7pm. Click here to join this virtual office hour.



Registration for Next School Year

Attention families looking to register for next school year:

The pre-registration portal for preschool, kindergarten, and grades 1-12 for the 2025-2026 school year is open. More information and the link to the pre-registration forms can be found by clicking here.

Please keep in mind:

  • Preschool students must be 3 or 4 years of age by August 31, 2025 and be toilet trained. Pre-registration does not guarantee a spot in the preschool program as there are limited spots available.

  • For kindergarten, children must be 5 years old by August 31, 2025. Any student currently attending the Jones Early Childhood Center for preschool that will be entering kindergarten in the fall must still register for kindergarten.

  • Students only need to register for grades 1-12 if they do not currently attend the Stoughton Public Schools.

Jones PTO Meeting on March 24: The Jones Early Childhood Center PTO's next meeting features Superintendent of Schools Dr. Baeta and TJ Recupero from the Elementary School Building Committee giving an update about the new elementary school project and redistricting. The meeting takes place Monday, March 24 at 6pm at the Jones Early Childhood Center(137 Walnut St.). Families from all schools are welcome! Childcare will be provided by Stoughton High National Honor Society Students. Light refreshments will be provided. If you plan on attending, please RSVP to joneseccpto@gmail.com.

Post-Secondary Planning Knight at SHS on March 26: Stoughton High's College & Career Center presents a "Post Secondary Planning Knight" on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 3-6pm at Stoughton High. The event features career speakers from all industries, as well as representatives from college admissions, trades, and the military. There will be presentations about the college application process and financial aid as well. ALL Stoughton High students and families from grades 9-12 are encouraged to attend.

Reading Knight at SHS on March 27: Did you know that March is National Reading Month? The Stoughton High National English Honor Society is hosting their first ever Reading Knight on Thursday, March 27 from 6-7:30pm at the SHS cafeteria! Students are invited to come to the event and celebrate their love of reading. This event is for SPS students of ALL ages. Click here for more details.

The Stoughton OASIS Coalition, in partnership with the Stoughton Public Schools, is offering the following upcoming parent workshops for parents of preschool and elementary children:

  • Wednesday, March 25, 2025 from 5-7pm at the Dawe School - Healthy Bedtime Routines

  • Thursday, April 3 from 2:45-4:45pm at the Jones Early Childhood Center - Raising Confident, Competent Children

  • Thursday, April 10 from 9-11am at the Jones Early Childhood Center - Raising Confident, Competent Children


Translation support is available. Childcare is available for the sessions on 3/25 and 4/3. Registration is required. Click here to register.
